Gειά σας from Ypsilanti Chapter 118. Our January AHEPA/ Daughters of Penelope gathering began with a magnificent lamb shank dinner prepared by my brothers, the chefs extraordinaire, Andy Petros and Jim Mitsopoulos. I thank those who braved the cold to join us for this wonderful meal and I especially thank my brothers Andy Petros and Jim Mitsopoulos for preparing and serving it. We were honored to have in attendance, Costas Boutsikakis, Supreme Governor of Region 5 along with former District 11 Governors, Andy Petros and Tony Capranica. After a bit of mingling and a few opening remarks everyone dug into their plates of deliciousness. After dinner we were somehow able to push ourselves away from the table and stay awake long enough to get down to business. Without going into detail, there were a number of items discussed that we hope will have a positive impact not only for Ypsilanti Chapter 118, but to our family here at Holy Trinity and the community in general. We look forward to the challenges of the coming year with determination to make a difference. Those wishing to reinstate or join AHEPA can do so by contacting me, George Arvanitis at 419-340-3487. Applications are also available after coffee hour.
There are a couple of significant dates for the AHEPA Family. The first being the return of the Apokriatiko on Sunday, February 15th after the Divine Liturgy. The second is AHEPA Day, our annual tribute to the graduates of our community, which will take place on Sunday, May 17, also right after the Divine Liturgy. Details on both events are forthcoming.
