Hello Again from AHEPA Chapter 118. Our May meeting again featured a AHEPA / Daughters of Penelope joint dinner. Brother Jim Mitsopoulos prepared spaghetti with homemade meatballs that were out of this world. Along with the healthy portions of spaghetti & meatballs were salad with homemade dressing, bread and dessert. A big THANKS to Jim for his using his meticulous culinary skills to serve us such an awesome meal. Afterward we convened for our individual meetings. We went over a few things, the most important being the election of new chapter officers for 2015-2016. Congratulations to the new officers of Chapter 118.
President – Tom Photos
Vice President – George Arvanitis
Treasurer – Mike Karniotis
Secretary – Tony Capranica
All other positions are appointed and will be decided by the new Chapter 118 President.
AHEPA Day 2015
I’d like to thank the members of our community for their continued support of AHEPA Day / Graduate Sunday. It’s great we can all join together as a family to show appreciation and encouragement for the graduates of our community. Congratulations to this year’s AHEPA Scholarship Award recipients, Maria Pappas, Dayna Dionyssiou and Anastasia Reder, along with all the other graduates of 2015. We wish you continued success as you transition to next chapter of your lives.
There are a number of people I’d like to thank for their help with this year’s luncheon. Thanks to AHEPA Buckeye District Scholarship Foundation Chairman, Tony Capranica, for again doing the great job as Master of Ceremonies.
Thanks also, to the Chefs Extraordinaire, Andy Petros and Jim Mitsopoulos. Not only was the food excellent, but plentiful too. Thanks to Daisy Pelphrey, John Andujar and Basil Apostolou for their help making sure everyone got their meal.
Thanks to Maria Rosales and the Daughters of Penelope for the beautiful decorations and set up of the hall along with their help during and after the luncheon.
I’d also like to thank my brothers for selecting me as this year’s AHEPAN of the Year. Anything Chapter 118 accomplished during my presidency is directly attributed to the support of a great bunch of guys I love and respect. They are truly the straw that stirs the drink. Lastly, thanks to all for coming out to honor the graduates of 2015. We look forward to seeing you next year.
