Greetings from Ypsilanti Chapter 118. Our February meeting was again an AHEPA/ Daughters of Penelope joint gathering. We had a great turnout even though it was extremely cold. A big thank you to Andy and Maria Petros, who prepared for us, some of the most tender and flavorful beef tips I’ve ever had. Served with a healthy portion of egg noodles, steamed vegetables, salad, bread and cake, it was the perfect recipe for a warm-up on such a cold evening. If anyone went hungry, it was of their own accord.

I also want to thank all the members of our community who braved the arctic temperatures and came out to support this year’s Apokreatiko. Your support really means a lot to us and we really appreciate it. Those not attending missed out on an awesome meal. Thanks to my brothers, Andy Petros and Jim Mitsopoulos for their hard work preparing and serving a scrumptious baked chicken dinner with all the fixings. Everyone certainly got enough to eat and seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly.

The next date of significance for the AHEPA Family is Sunday, May 17th, AHEPA Day, our annual tribute to the graduates of our community. Look for updates in the weekly church announcements.

As always, those wishing to reinstate or join AHEPA can do so by contacting me, George Arvanitis at 419-340-3487. Applications are also available during coffee hour.
