This is the last Echo for the 2016 year, so the Daughters of Penelope would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Our November meeting had a fantastic turn out; it was a joyous and delicious event.  A joyous event occurred as three new members were initiated. We welcome our three new members Debbie Paterakis, Jennifer Becker and Maria Savich.

The cooking crew out did themselves by preparing a delicious lamb shank dinner. Thank you goes out to Andy and Maria Petros, Jim Mitsopoulos, George Arvanitis and Ted Voudouris for preparing our delicious dinner.

During our November meeting the Daughters of Penelope celebrated Daughters of Penelope Founder’s Day and all past Dodona #24 Presidents.  We give our past Presidents and current members;  Ann Mulopulos, Faye Grevis, Joan Dionyssiou, Georgette (Becky) Skiadas, Dawn Anagnos, Tulla Mihas, Persilla Zervos, Pauline Biernacki, Kathy Lawrence, Dena Grevis-Smith, Joyce Anagnos, Maria Rosales and current President Marina Cooper a round of thanks and appreciation for all that they have done and do for our organization and community.  Ann Mulopulos was not only honored for her past presidency, but for her 61 years serving as a member of Daughters of Penelope. Thank you for all of your years of service goes to Ann Mulopulos.

Decorating the DOP Christmas Tree was held on November 20th after the Divine Liturgy.  Laughter, caroling, and an occasional crash of a bulb was heard and enjoyed.

The Maids of Athena are currently recruiting members. Girls between the ages of 14 to 27 years old and Christian are welcome. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please contact Maria Cook, Lori Kamilaris or Marina Cooper (419) 343-2203.

Our next meeting will be Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be at the Brandywine Country Club.  Flyers will be sent out.

Final chance to pay your 2016 dues is NOW.  2016 dues are $45.00.  Dues are now being accepted for 2017, the amount is $45.00.  Please bring your dues to the December meeting.
