Summer break is coming to a close and the Daughters of Penelope will be in full swing.

Arty Drink and Paint was held on June 21st. Wine, snacks and even some painting occurred.  All of us had a delightful evening.  Elaine Scarvilis gave excellent instructions on the art of water painting.  We all created a painting and each one was beautiful and unique. We will be listing future lessons as they become available.

Congratulations to Joyce Anagnos, our newly re-elected District Governor. On September 30th our officers will be hosting the Buckeye District 11’s workshop here at the Community Center.

District Convention was held June 2nd and 3rd in Fairborn, Ohio and National Convention was held the week of July 24th at the Disney Orlando. Luckily we had representatives at each convention.

The Daughters of Penelope Greek Town Casino Outing will be on October 8th. The cost is $35.00 and you will receive $20.00 in Casino spending. Contact Marina Cooper if you are interested in going.

A group outing was held for the Berlin Painter and His World at the Toledo Museum of Art. The Hellenic dancers performed on opening day, July 9th and the

Olives, Feta, Phyllo and More cookbooks are being sold as you exit  the exhibition.

Holy Trinity is having their Ministry Kick-off on September 24th. Please attend or help to represent the Daughters of Penelope. We will be having our own booth to decorate. See Marina Cooper if you are interested in helping.

Please be sure to attend our first meeting on October 5th, which will be held at the Holy Trinity Community Center. Schedules for this upcoming year will be a major discussion. There are many important events that need all of our suggestions and help.

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.”
