Dear Parish Family and Friends,
As I write this letter to you I am still overjoyed and thankful at the wonderful experience we had at this year’s ministry fair. First, it is a reminder that we must always remember to celebrate and serve one another. Second, it is a reminder of all the wonderful things that you do for this Church and its ministries.
St. Peter writes, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:10-11) St. Peter is reminding us that we have all received gifts from God. Each of us has been given much and we are to use these gifts to “serve one another, as good stewards of God’s grace.” This is so very important for us to realize. We must care for each other and the ministries of this Church. We must first look to each other, no one else, to do the work our Lord has entrusted to us. The work of preaching and teaching the Gospel and the funding of our ministries that accomplish this work, must be done by us. In order to do this we must remember to serve one more person.
St. Paul tells us how, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24) My beloved family in Christ, this is the bottom line for us, that we are serving the “Lord Jesus Christ”. He is the reason why we are here. He is the reason why you work so hard for this Church. He WILL help us to achieve all of your goals because they are for His glory.
My family in Christ I am so very proud of all of you. I am proud of the work of our Parish Council, the committees, and ministries of our beloved Cathedral. I am proud of how you serve Christ and one another with the gifts you have received. As we enter into another stewardship campaign I am confident that we will continue to serve and add to our efforts of growing and funding the ministries at the Cathedral.
