XRISTOS ANESTI! CHRIST IS RISEN!

We were blessed to have witnessed and celebrated this glorious feast of Pascha that filled our hearts with unsurpassable joy of our Lord’s Resurrection. Pascha brings the light, love, and the renewal of our faith in our lives, and may we experience this throughout the year.

On April 2nd, our Philoptochos Chapter held our annual Plaki Lenten Luncheon Fundraiser after Divine Liturgy. Olympia Ntakos, Pauline Biernacki, Ann Mulopulos and Maria Melas lead the faithful crew of volunteers that prepared a delicious baked vegetable and fish dinner, great macaroni and cheese was also available, a true delicacy that was enjoyed by all. We have these fundraisers to support the mission of Philoptochos and fulfill our National Philoptochos obligations, projects, charities and our Cathedral needs. This beautiful dinner could not have taken place without the hard-working committee of Barbara and Rich Hartford, Presvytera Ann Hadgigeorge, Pattie Senerius, Angie Bohland, Jerry Biernacki, George Mulopulos, Yanula Stathulis, Kathy Chaka, Emmanuel Yakumithis Maria Tzanakis and Kelly Yakumithis.  Later that same Sunday evening Holy Trinity Cathedral had the Lenten Sunday Night Vespers and potluck. Our core Philoptochos committee lead by Olympia Ntakos continued to work in preparation for that evening potluck event. Thank you to all for their tireless work.

Philoptochos organized our annual Cathedral Clean-Up on Saturday, April 8th after the Service of Lazarus. In preparation for the Highest Holy Days of our faith Philoptochos was spiritually diligent in preparing ourselves for Pascha we also wanted to prepare our beloved Cathedral. We had a hard-working team of all ages from our community cleaning, polishing, scrubbing and wiping down pews and cleaning floors. We are grateful to, Jim and Pam Martin, Kelly and Alex Yakumithis, John, Sophia, George and Sophia Spillson, Maria Petros, Father Larry, Presbytera Jenny, Nicholas, Vassi and Lukia, Gus and Evie Jackson, Yanula Stathulis, Maria Tzanakis, Marios and Andreas Kamilaris, Michael Ballas, Evan and Gabe Kentris, Julia Pechlivanos, Katie Kopan, Maria Cook, Dawn Anagnos, Cassandra Rousos, Christiana Christides, Evan and Aniese Zink, and Bud Connelly. We enjoyed baked goods, great pizza for lunch and good fellowship. Thank you to all!

I would like to thank and acknowledge the George Mulopulos Family for generously donating the eggs for our Resurrection Service. We genuinely appreciate all the work for dyeing and preparing the eggs for Anastasi Service;  Kelly, Monny and Alex Yakumithis, Stephanie Berardinelli, Pam Martin, Presbytera Jenny, Kathy Chaka, Maria Tzanakis and Melanie Hoyt  – Thank you.
