Christ Is Risen!
I would like to start by thanking everyone who made our Lenten services, especially Holy Week so wonderful. Our choir, chanters, myrrh bearers, clean up volunteers, Sunrise Meal volunteers, retreat organizers all made this season very special. Special thanks to Fr. Larry and Presbytera Jenny. Father was a superstar, full of energy throughout the entire Lenten season, making sure that everyone’s needs were attended to and Pres. Jenny was there side by side with him, helping at the chanter stand when needed and being a great support. Thanks to Carole, who was inundated with requests in addition to her regular duties and did it all with a smile. Thank you to Terry Timmons who kept our Cathedral and Educational Building looking great during the chaotic schedule of Great Lent and Pascha. Thank you to the ladies of Philoptochos for their generous donation of a new refrigerator. Whenever there is a need in our community, Philoptochos is always there to help. A big THANK YOU to Peter Mulopulos! We contacted several monument companies to mount the plaque honoring Fr. Chris Hadgigeorge. None of which would install the plaque for us. With just a few days before Easter, Peter stepped up and was able to install the plaque so that it was up for the Resurrection Service. It was obvious that people were touched by the tribute to Fr. Chris and to the efforts of Peter as well.
Finally, I would like to thank you, our parishioners, for without you, our community does not exist. Everyone stepped up to help whenever our community was in need of something to be done, or when volunteers were needed for different activities.
Our summer luncheons will be starting back up with the first one on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Please let us know if you have the time to volunteer. We are always looking for folks to help out with serving, clean up, prep work etc.
We are still looking for a few more volunteers to be added to our Buildings and Grounds committee so that we can prioritize and plan our improvements and budget for those improvements and repairs.
As always, please continue to call, or email me with questions or concerns, or just stop me when you see me.
