I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow Parish Council members for electing me President this year. I am humbled for the honor and hope to finish the year with a unified parish and continued progress in the right direction.
I have two very basic goals that I want to focus on this year:
- To ensure transparency in the actions of the parish council and
- To increase the number of active stewards.
The purpose in the existence of the Parish Council is to represent the Church whom we serve and to inform you, the parishioners, of our actions. As we move forward, I will do my best to keep communication flowing to our parishioners via email and post.
We must also figure out how to engage those stewards who pay their commitment, but do not regularly participate in community activities and also to reach out to those who are not stewards in an effort to grow our community. Although dollars are important, we need to focus on the people. Once we engage, the rest will follow.
This is not a “one man job”. This can only be accomplished if we all engage and work together. I have reached out to several members of our community and have received valuable advice and guidance. I welcome all of you to feel free to call or email me with suggestions, advice or comments. (419) 205-0853 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. The only way to move in the right direction is for all of us to be a part of it.
