As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
John 20:21
September is here and your Stewardship committee would like to wish you all a very warm and sincere welcome back! We hope that everyone had a very relaxing summer enjoying family and friends, and that you made time to let your soul and spirit fly. We also hope that everyone has been enjoying the quarterly treats from your Stewardship committee. It is our way of thanking you for participating in one of the most important programs of the Church, and to remind everyone that a healthy stewardship system is integral to sustaining a healthy church.
September is a very important month in the life of Stewardship for the Church. There are still four months left to participate in this year’s Stewardship campaign and achieve our 2017 Stewardship Commitment goal of $250,000. There are 239 stewards who have already made a Stewardship Commitment for 2017, and we thank you so much! We pray that if you haven’t made a pledge to Holy Trinity yet, please consider doing so. It is important to remember that everything that we do at this Church, all our ministries, is made possible through our faithful giving.
When considering participating in the Stewardship program of the Church, one question every parishioner should consider is, “When do I turn to the Church?” We all know that the Church is the first place we turn to for the important stages in life such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals and we expect the Church to be there ready to support us. But God’s Church, Holy Trinity, needs our support as well. It is a basic fact of reality that there are many expenses to running a Cathedral on a daily basis. However, we do more at Holy Trinity than just “run” the Church. We are a VERY dynamic, thriving parish that strives to do God’s mission through many ministries, and it is these ministries that provide us all with the knowledge that we are doing God’s work in this world.
Our philosophy for this year’s Stewardship campaign has been to get more parishioners involved in the daily life of our Church. It is our prayer that when people come and see all that our Church has to offer, they will want to become faithful stewards of this Church and support all its ministries. Holy Trinity’s 2017 Church directory boasts over 500 families. Our Stewardship program is currently being maintained by approximately 300 stewards. We can do better and we will do better! We want to know that when we do turn to our beloved Holy Trinity for those precious life moments, it will be here ready and waiting to celebrate with us!
Always remember … “If every person understood that we are ALL in essence members of the Stewardship Committee by virtue of being a member of Holy Trinity, we would ALL be working hard to make sure that EVERYONE makes a commitment in some way to their ability, to the Church. This is the real solution to the future stability of Holy Trinity.“ Please feel free to contact Carole or any member of the Stewardship Committee if you have any questions or concerns about your Stewardship Commitment.
